Interview with Owner Chef Micah Skye
Almost 20 years in the making…
Micah is a documentary filmmaker, celebrity chef, and neuromuscular release technique practitioner featured in the two-part motion picture documentary of his work.
He has dedicated most of his life to learning the art and science of creating delicious foods that fill the body with unbounded energy, lifeforce, and healing power. He calls it “The Art + Science of Living Foods”, the very title of this "encyclopedic" book.
As a father of four and business owner, Skye needed food that fuels him and his family but was also:

The SAD (Standard American Diet) separates you from the critical communion with food that activates energy, healing, and freedom from dis-ease. Fifteen years ago Skye began working on a veritable encyclopedia to Living Foods. Although the book could be 15,000 pages, he condensed it into digestible portions that you can read in just a few hours.
What’s Next for Mandala Living Foods?
We have risen from the ashes with a remodeled gourmet café, bar, and live probiotic soda brewery at the Anahola Marketplace on Kauaʻi. This evolution has allowed us to serve our community in alignment with the Hawaiian Homelands, while laying the foundation for broader expansion.
Today, Mandala Living Foods products are available in four retail stores across Kauaʻi, Papayas, Vim N vigor, Kauai Juice Co,and Hoku and we’re just getting started. As we move forward, we’re focused on:

Micah Skye’s debut book, “The Art & Science of Living Foods,” published internationally in October 2023, has ignited a global audience. In 2026, he’ll begin a worldwide book, spotlighting Mandala’s mission and ethos on an international stage.

THE CLOUD Coconut Creamery
Chef Micah Skye has several product lines that are produced through our kitchen.
The Cloud is one of his most exciting products he has created as it is officially the most powerful super probiotic yogurt on the planet with over 70 probiotic strains, and is completely dairy free made from coconut!
We are currently working on building the first coconut processing facility on Kauai to produce upwards of a thousands of pounds of coconut a month to produce a line of yogurt, kefirs, and capsule supplements that will be exclusively served at Mandala outside of being carried in stores on the islands and other stores across the US.

Mandala Living Foods is not only a livings foods company, but a family...a tribe, and one of the key foundations of a tribe is community.
The branches of our family tree continue to grow and expand our community, connecting local farmers, vendors, practitioners-but most importantly, connecting people through the art of food.
Now with Chef Micah’s first living foods uncook book in process to be published after the launch of the first Mandala Living Foods Cafe opened in Kapaa late October 2023, the tree grows even bigger reaching across the nation, and eventually the world.
Starseed
Starseed is the creation of Micah Skye, born out of the desire to create locally sourced living baby food with no preservatives for his children.
Making fresh baby food for them every day with such a magical variety of exotic superfoods here on Kauai like Taro, Soursop, and 'Ulu' or breadfruit.
He felt inspired to create organic high quality baby food for conscious parents on the go.
